Weekend wrap-up
Jul. 25th, 2005 10:25 amAnother busy weekend!
lady_babalon is away at an 8-day work conference (ugh!) leaving us in charge of the nine-year-old.
Friday night I had an evening out: a Gaylaxians trip to the movies to see "Fantastic Four". I'd gone with low expectations, and it was fun in a brainless-movie sort of way. After the film I had to go immediately home, to relieve
sophiaserpentia of childcare duties so she could go to Manray (goth and other alternative communities club which is closing! Hopefully it will reopen elsewhere as they say on their web site.)
Saturday: two children's parties in one day! Yes, it was a good day for the nine-year-old, and at C.'s party we got to see "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory." Johnny Depp is still the prettiest. (Sorry, Legolas!)
Sunday: Grocery shopping and house cleaning. (Cracking the whip to make sure everyone contributed to the effort...including handing the "whip" over to
secret_willow to make the nine-year-old pick up his toys! Heh!) Late afternoon: outing to Walden Pond. I didn't think there'd be a problem parking at 4:30pm. Wrong. The park was "closed" until 5pm so we ended up going for ice cream in Concord. It was worth the wait for actual warm water to swim in! (Ok, splash about in, since I spent the whole time in the water keeping an eagle-eye on the nine-year-old.)
