Nature walk photos :-)

As I said in my previous post, on sunday I had the privilege of being able to take part in one of [livejournal.com profile] urbpan's nature walks. This one was at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, which is also an aboretum.

Pond at cemetry
Here's one of the pretty scenes we saw there.

pond again
Same scene as above because it was just that pretty.

warbler in tree
We spent lots of time looking up at tiny birds in trees. I don't have a good zoom lens and most of my pics are of trees and if there's a bird in it, I really can't find it. Sort of a Where's Waldo for bird-watchers. In this pic at least we can see the bird. It's likely some sort of warbler.

Chinese Dawn Redwood
Part of the trunk of a rare tree: a Dawn Redwood from China

red-bellied woodpecker
That little dot of red you see in this pic is the head of a red-bellied woodpecker. (whose belly isn't red!)

robin
A robin with a worm in its mouth. Actually, it's probably a caterpillar.

turtle
A turtle going for a swim. :-)

bullfrog
Here's a big ol' bullfrog. We saw several of them. Noisy critters, those bullfrogs. :-)
