meaningless babbling

I dreamed I was on vacation in Philadelphia and took a boat ride through Philly's many canals (?!) and the tall buildings came right up to the edge of the canals. And I was frustrated because I'd forgotten to bring my camera.

Is it a law of nature that I have to feed my sweater whenever I'm wearing one that easily shows off the fact that it was fed?

Maybe your sleeping brain was mixing Philadelphia and New Hope (PA) together??

I've never been to New Hope (PA) and didn't know it has canals (obviously it must! :) )

New Hope is a touristy little town north of Philadelphia along the Delaware River. It has a canal running through the center of town like this:



In the warmer months, you can even ride down the canal on a boat towed by mules (http://www.canalboats.com/canal_history.html). You can also walk the towpath alongside the canal. And of course the local merchants will be happy to relieve you of your money. :-) (New Hope was the first place I ever saw an "adult toys" shop, but I don't know if it's still there. *smile*)

That looks like fun - I want to go! :) But I'm trying to figure out how a mule can pull a boat -- is the mule swimming?!

The mule walks along the towpath, hitched with some harness thingey to the barge. But mostly human tourists walk along the towpath nowadays. :-)
