A group of friends and I really enjoy an elegant tea every now and then, which we usually do once a year in December. On sunday, we had an outing to our first out-of-the-house tea, at Antiquiteas, a lovely little place in southern New Hampshire. Afterwards, we spent an hour browsing a large bookstore before heading home, and I was eager to get home because I was missing the household's father's day barbeque! (Now that I'm living with a father I will know not to schedule a conflict that day.)

waiting for tea
Here we are waiting for our tea and food to arrive. Photo taken by Kathleen.

food!
They brought out two towers of the food: dainty little sandwiches with the crusts cut off, biscuits and other pastries, fruit. Plus of course several pots of tea. Notice the tea cozy. :)

teacups
Some of their teacups on display. Fine china was also available for sale, plus other antiques and crafty items, much of it extremely reasonably priced!

baby budgie
The owner of the place had a box full of baby parakeets! Some of us got to hold the baby budgies. :)

I thought you'd enjoy the tea room pics! We just found out about this place, and it's been around for 10 years, so maybe there's one hiding in your area too...

Awww, baby budgies! So cute!

That looks like a really nice place. Reminds me a bit of the tea room where we took my aunt out to lunch for her birthday (somewhere north of Atlanta). Very cool little spot, surprisingly close to a bunch of industrial parks, but you'd never know it from being there.

It was very nice. Not too far away either -- they're up in Londonderry, NH. Definitely a place to keep in mind for special events, since they have three separate function rooms and their prices are quite reasonable.

It's a nice way to spend an afternoon, if you ever have a chance.
