(I'm currently having a weird problem with photobucket--the photos are appearing in LJ really large even though I reduced their size. Right now the only thing that's working is for me to post thumbnails instead. When you click on them they should enlarge to the size I actually want them. What a pain. Sorry to make you take that extra step to see the pics larger! Next time I'll use another site, but photobucket used to be so easy!)

Ok, on to the trip report, continued. We saw two museums and one play. (Denice saw two plays.)

Our first stop was the Imperial War Museum where there was a fantastic exhibit about children during World War II. Very moving stuff.

Just one example of what we saw there. (Yes, there's a Doctor Who reference here too...)

There was so much to see at this museum! I want to go back! And the price was right. Free! (Though I spent money at the gift shop and the cafe, where I had the best meal of the trip: totally vegetarian, with sweet potatos, carrots, onions and chick peas in a tomato sauce, plus roasted whole potatoes and snow peas - which have a different name in Britain - on the side. Yum!)

One more from the war museum: Snoopy's plane! The sopwith camel (from when Snoopy's being a WWI Flying Ace. :-)

After that we had to go running off to the theatre district because we'd bought half-price tickets earlier in the day, to a 5pm matinee (much cheaper than the evening show.)

Classic shot of Picadilly, outside where we bought our theatre tickets.

This is what we saw. :-)

The next day we went to the Barbican art gallery to see an exhibit titled "Seduced: Art and Sex from Antiquity to Now." Great exhibit, we were there all afternoon. (Thank you to Gloria for sending us an article about this one.) Not free, but worth the money.

This was in the lobby of the barbican gallery. It's a cow so of course I took a photo. :-)

I tried contacting them, and got one of these "read the tutorials" messages back. I've been using photobucket for a long time so it was pretty exasperating, but it taught me how to post those miserable thumbnails, since posting regular pics from them is obviously broken!

I had to take lots of pics -- I'd promised you I would. :-)

At least you do keep your promises. *grins* I was terrified you would forget the camera at home or something like that. *grins*
