Summer and the Kitty

I've never lived with a cat before this year, so seeing how a cat responds to different situations is new to me.


He just lies in this one spot all day -- on the rug near the entrance to the kitchen. This is Zayinel's "it's too hot to move" spot.


Occasionally he'll roll over onto his back.


Other times he will pick listlessly at the rug with his good front paw. Pick! Pick! Little specks of rug flying! Don't tell the landlady or she'll insist (again) that the cat's got to go.

Our 6 have been wilting in the heat. The three all black ones especially. They've been staying in the house more while the three white and black ones have been outside more. Poor kitties!

I understand. I'm allergic too. It's taken three years of allergy shots to get me to where I can live with a cat. He doesn't come up to the floor where my bedroom is, and I take medication.

Yup, my cat does that, too. He usually flops down in front of me in order to convince me that it is time to turn on the AC. My cat has similar markings to yours except he is medium gray on top instead of black. Too cute!
